My fine art prints will add an evocative energy to any living space
Hi, I'm Teonna Eland, a Canadian artist residing on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
I create abstract layered textural prints working with photography and digital painting.
I am a painter. These archival art prints invite an emotional, tactile, painterly experience of photography.
Creative inspiration comes from within macro worlds. I find mystery working in the studio and out in the street. On the surfaces of stone, within wood grain, vegetation, sea shore and tidal water flow.
Places where imagination can run wild.
Final prints are reflections and impressions of the intangible energy within landscapes.
My creative approach is experimental.
I work with a flat bed scanner or a lens based camera for image capture. A new digital painting print series explores dynamic innovative software.
Tools provide the opportunity to stretch creative ideas in new ways. But the real mystery and wonder lies within the creative process.
Accident and intuitive insight are the essential energy within my art. These create a continual motion forward.
I grew up in England and Ireland. During the 1980’s I studied painting in Dublin and emigrated to Canada in 1993. For over 29 years I had a studio based in the Yukon Territories, northern Canada. I have been showing work in the Yukon since the late 1990’s. With group and solo shows in the Northwest Territories and British Columbia. In 2011 I participated in a juried New York city art fair.
I have received recognition and support through Yukon Territorial Government arts funding awards. With work also in the Permanent art Collection of the Yukon Government. In 2012 my photography received honorary mention by the International Photography Awards (IPA). Work is in private collections in Ireland and Canada.
